Ask Questions

Below are a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
Q. What times are check in / check out?
A. Check In is after 4 PM EST, please do not arrive early.  This time is used to properly prepare your vacation home for your stay.  Check Out is by 11 AM EST; again please ensure that you depart at the designated time to allow for preparing the property for the next guests.
Q: Can we have early check in? Or late departure?
A: Possibly; back-to-back rentals require a tight schedule from our cleaning people. At other times we may be able to arrange something ahead of time; please do not call for early arrivals and late departures on the day of arrival or departure at your vacation rental, we will not be able to accommodate your request.
Q. Is there a maximum number of people?
A. Our rates are based on occupancy of four guests, additional rates apply for more than four guests over the age of twelve.  The maximum occupancy of Summit Hideaway is 14 guests, regardless of age.
Q: Are bed linens and towels included in the vacation rental fees?
A: All vacation rentals have sheets for every bed and sofa bed, bath, hand and face towels, spa towels, and kitchen linens.
Q. Are pets allowed?
A. Yes! Please don't think you have to leave your four-legged friend at home. Summit Hideaway accepts pets (non-service animals) such as dogs, cats, and birds.  Restrictions and additional fees or deposits are detailed in the Rental Agreement.
Q: Can we smoke on the balcony, the patio, with the windows open?
A: No. All rentals offered are strictly non smoking inside; however, outside smoking is provided with an appropriate place to dispose of cigarette butts.  Smoking in a unit is cause for eviction, will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit, and the guest(s) will be responsible for any additional costs incurred to adequately clean the property.
Q: Is high speed, wireless internet provided?
A: Every vacation rental we manage has wireless internet free of charge to our guests. Please be aware, our mountain cabins can be in remote locations, so the internet connection can sometimes by unreliable.
Q: Can you hold a place for me for a few days, a week, or until I decide?
A: We do not, as a rule, hold dates. Our rental agreements can be accepted electronically or via fax, and we accept major credit cards to make the process fast and easy.
Q: We are really neat people; can we clean the place ourselves and skip the normal cleaning fee?
A: No. We must ensure that each guest has an exceptional vacation rental experience. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves to some extent (gather linens, dispose of the trash, clean the dishes, etc.), as detailed in the Rental Agreement, but we will be responsible for the cleaning of the property.
Q: How much money is due when?
A: For most rentals 50% of the total is due upon reservation and 50% is due 30 days prior to your arrival. For unusually long stays, we may be able to make alternative arrangements.
Q: Will you take a different amount for our stay?
A: Our prices are firm and fair. We will occasionally offer last minute specials, and encourage you to sign up for our email list and blog,  follow us on Facebook, or return to our web site often where we will post any vacation rental specials.
Q. How do I get my keys if I'm going to arrive late?
A: Our vacation rentals use electronic locks, and your personal entrance code will be provided in the Rental Package prior to your arrival.
Q. Can we fish in the lakes and river in the community? Can my family use the pool?
A. Absolutely! All of the community amenities are at your disposal and descriptions and directions are provided with the Rental Package. GA fishing license laws still apply for fishing in the lakes or river.
Q. Can we hold our event, i.e. wedding, graduation party, bachelor, bachelorette party, etc. at one of your homes?
A. No, there are venues available at each location that can accommodate that request. It is the Vacation Rental's policy that parties and large functions are not to be held at our homes. Please keep in mind that these are private homes in residential neighborhoods. We must respect our homeowners and our local residents.
Q. Are chemicals required for the hot tub?
A. The hot tub is cleaned and treated prior to your arrival, and additional chemicals are usually not required. We do leave a container of chlorine shock for the guest to use after heavy usage.
Q. Does every bedroom have a TV?
A. Most bedrooms will have a 32" TV with satellite or cable.  The exception is any room where it is not feasible to mount a TV (such as a loft bedroom).
Q. What if I leave an item behind in the vacation home I stayed in?
A. We cannot be responsible for any items left in a vacation home. We will attempt to locate items reported as left behind and, if found, return them for a fee of $25.00, which includes shipping. Items not claimed within 10 days will be donated to a local charity.
Q. What does it mean if a home advertises "Care Package" as an amenity?
A. Homes that advertise a "Care Package" as an amenity provide guests with a Vacation Starter Kit for their arrival. Enjoy the convenience of starter household supplies such as detergent, garbage bags, paper towels, etc.  Soap, shampoo and toilet paper are provided in every bathroom. All items provided will be detailed in the Rental Agreement package.  We want to take care of some of the little necessities so you may begin to relax and enjoy your vacation.
